How To Become An AFGE Member.
AFGE is a democratic organization in which the members of each
Local decide what that Local's dues should be. The monthly per capita
tax (currently $13.00) must be paid, and depending on what else the
Local needs to operate on and if additional dues are assessed. Click here for a table outlining our current
dues
structure.
Membership has its benefits. If you are unsure about your eligibility for membership (you must
be a member
of the bargaining unit), please contact the designated VP of your
agency.

Did you Know?
|
There
is a distinct difference between being a member of the
bargaining unit and being a member of the Union. If your
position is covered under your agency's labor-management
contract, then you are automatically a member of the
bargaining unit (at no cost to you). However, you must
elect to join the Union by filling out a membership form and
paying the appropriate dues. Your active support, in the form of a
membership, strengthens
our bargaining power on both the Local (management) and
National (Capital Hill) levels and will help us grow as
a Union. Please consider joining the Union today.
